Betsy Hartman, MT-BC, NMT- Fellow


Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Neurologic Music Therapist- Fellow, Betsy Hartman, has spent the past 14 years dedicated to advancing the field of music therapy in the Pacific Northwest.

Betsy specializes in program development and clinical work in healthcare settings. In 2015, Betsy partnered with Swedish Medical Group to develop and lead its flagship MT program at Swedish Cancer Institute and Swedish MS Center.

Beyond her clinical work, Betsy is an advocate for Music Therapy in WA State. She collaborates with local universities to supervise MT students, actively engages with the WA State Music Therapy Task Force to contribute to the field’s development and expansion, and most recently, she has joined the MT Advisory Committee of the WA State Department of Health.

Ultimately, Betsy’s deep passion lies in helping others discover how they can harness the therapeutic power of music to enhance their physical and emotional well-being.

When at home, Betsy cherishes quality time in her North Seattle neighborhood with her husband and their three young children. Together they enjoy playing at local parks, indulging in trail running, and embarking on new adventures!
